The sad cry of old folk …
The wailing of a spiritual being
From out of the darkness of their hearts.
They feel
As a mother feels
For her long-lost child.
They talk to him
As if we were alive
Like you and me.
When the funeral is over
Everything is not forgotten
Because there is always room in the heart
For one more thing …
Even the dead.
