SCHOOL LUNCHES should taste good, look good and BE GOOD for your children
FOR LUNCH give your child something from each of these groups:
-
Sandwiches or rolls filled with egg, cheese, fish, meat or peanut butter.
-
One or more sweet sandwiches with dates, raisins, bananas or jam.
-
Alternatively—plain cake or biscuits, or a scone.
-
Any raw fruit or vegetable.
Pack the lunch in a lunch box with each type of food packed separately in greaseproof paper—not newspaper.
FOR PLAYTIME —milk followed by fruit is best.
A FREE copy of the booklet “SCHOOL LUNCHES” can be obtained from your Medical Officer of Health or by writing to Dept. of Health, P.O. Box 5013, Wellington.
